This is a grittier and vastly more experienced Barcelona side than the one who lost 4-1 to Lyon in the final last season, bolstered by arrivals including former Wolfsburg winger Caroline Graham Hansen (far right). A forward line with 60 goals in all competitions will pose a stern challenge for Atletico, who are without five players who tested positive for Covid-19.

PREDICTION: Barcelona win

Today Glasgow City v Wolfsburg

Glasgow City manager Scott Booth describes the club as a “hybrid” comprising full-time and part-time players – the only team left in the tournament structured in this way. They are major underdogs against two-time Champions League winners Wolfsburg, albeit the Scottish side have been bolstered by South African international Janine van Wyk (bottom right).

PREDICTION: Wolfsburg win

Tomorrow Lyon v Bayern Munich

It is difficult to envisage anything other than a win for six-time Champions League winners Lyon, who last failed to reach the final in the 2014-15 season. Another title this season would be the fifth in succession for the Galacticos of women’s football, with Lyon home to players including Ballon D’or runner-up Lucy Bronze (above right).

PREDICTION: Lyon win

Tomorrow Arsenal v PSG

Arsenal know they have to win this tournament if they are to qualify for the 2020-21 edition, having finished behind Chelsea and Arsenal in last season’s curtailed Women’s Super League. Vivianne Miedema (right) is among the most prolific forwards in the women’s game, and that they are able to field new Australian recruits Lydia Williams, Steph Catley and Caitlin Foord adds to their class.
