Wycombe furious fu at FA’S lack of action a in tackling Akin Akinfenwa ‘fat water bu buffalo’ jibe

A Fleetwood repr representa­tive has avoided punishme punishment by the Football Associat Associatio­n after allegedly calling Wycombe W striker Adebayo A Akinfenwa a “fat water buffalo buffalo”.

Akinfenwa cla claimed he felt “angry, frustrated and dehumanise­d” aft after hearing the remark during Wycombe’s Wy play-off semi-final semi-fina against Fleetwood last se season.

However, whil while the FA said that it was satisfi satisfied the insult was used towards Akinfenwa, there was not suffi sufficient evidence to charge charg the Fleetwood employee emplo for a breach of FA Rule E3(2) – making reference to ethnic origin, race and/or and/o nationalit­y.

Wycombe wer were not happy with the outcome of the investigat­ion and said: “The FA had the opportunit­y opportun to take steps to ensure t the conduct was punished appropriat­ely appropr and to make sure that ev everyone knows this type of comment comm will not be tolerated in th the future.”

The Profession­al Profession Footballer­s’ Associatio­n also said s it was “disappoint­ed” a at the verdict. “It is clear that a white player with a similar stature s to Akinfenwa wou would never be described in the th way he was during this incident,” inc it said.
