Markovc takes European gold on track debut for Britain
Representing her country for the first time on the track, Amy-eloise Markovc took advantage of big-name absences to secure Britain’s first gold of the European Indoor Championships. Born in Stockport but raised in the United States from age two, Markovc, 25, aims to qualify for the Olympics after winning the 3,000 metres in 8 min 46.43 sec. Team-mate Verity Ockenden won bronze.

It is back to City for the final position and we are going to take a chance on Raheem Sterling finding the net at least once.
