Markovc takes European gold on track debut for Britain

-

Representing her country for the first time on the track, Amy-eloise Markovc took advantage of big-name absences to secure Britain’s first gold of the European Indoor Championships. Born in Stockport but raised in the United States from age two, Markovc, 25, aims to qualify for the Olympics after winning the 3,000 metres in 8 min 46.43 sec. Team-mate Verity Ockenden won bronze.

Here is your chance to be the boss by getting involved in Ladbrokes’s exciting 5-A-side bet, which combines the best of Fantasy Football with a range of markets.

All you need to do is build your own team of players, select the stat to go with them and build your odds accordingly.

Here is my attempt to be the best 5-a-side boss in tomorrow’s Manchester derby, and we will aim to be the best that we can be with the (0-1-1-3).

The first position we need to fill is The Baller and there is no shortage of Manchester City players we could take to fill this role but we will settle for defender Ruben Dias to make 70+ passes.

Next is The Playmaker and sometimes it is best just to stick with the obvious, so we will select City superstar

Kevin De Bruyne to make one assist.

The Sniper is next up and while it would be easy to fill this five-a-side team with City players, it is good to have something to cheer when their rivals have rare attacks, so we will take Marcus Rashford to have at least one shot during the 90 minutes.

Bruno Fernandes warrants selection as The Sharp Shooter. He is going to be taking all the free-kicks around the box, so we are hoping he will get at least one shot on target during the match.

It is back to City for the final position and we are going to take a chance on Raheem Sterling finding the net at least once.

So, there is my team and the total odds work out at 10/1. Selected matches only and you must be over 18 to play. Full terms and conditions apply. Good luck.
