Boycott would hurt owners
The events at Old Trafford come as no surprise considering the Neanderthal element consuming our national game. The only way to discourage these greedy owners is to boycott future matches and refuse to buy merchandise. Hit them where it hurts, in the pocket! Andy J Palin, Lichfield, Staffs
Manchester United supporters are naive in the extreme if they think that they can influence the Glazers to sell their stake. The Glazers have a virtually risk-free investment that produces high returns with very little of their personal capital at risk. Living in the United States, they are not exposed to the wrath of the fans, having paid others to front up for them. United fans need to accept all of this, and learn to live with it.

Top flight already super
The performances and results of the two European Champions League semifinals, featuring Chelsea and Man City, are evidence of the outstanding quality of the Premier League. Further proof that we don’t need or want a European Super League.

Am I alone in thinking that the euphoria over the fact that two allegedly English teams are to contest a European final is sadly misplaced? They are both foreign-owned, have foreign managers/coaches, their players are overwhelmingly foreign itinerant mercenaries, so should the right term be “English based” to avoid prosecution under the Trade Descriptions Act?
