Anatomy of a look
It’s the tail end of January but we’re still struggling with getting to work looking appropriate after all that overindulgence. Here, Sienna Miller demonstrates some easy workwear chic. Take note…
Shirt up
A crisp white shirt will never let you down. Miller’s collared style looks particularly smart when paired with classic black trousers. You could go one step further and tie up hair for a smarter look – and show off your shirting at the same time.
+ Layering lesson
The shirt and jumper combo is more versatile than you might think. Together, the vibe is smart casual, but when worn on their own they tell a different story. A white shirt says ‘serious office attire’, while the deep V-neck jumper will show off a little skin – perfect for after hours when worn with elegant earrings.
+ Timeless trousers
The slight kick-flare of Miller’s trousers is both timeless and on-trend. Black and navy are always safe bets for suiting, but khaki and burgundy would do just as well for those who want to add a splash of colour.
+ A safe-bet shoe
Miller’s choice of footwear is a sensible one: the block heel will be comfortable as well as flattering, and the contrasting colour adds a point of interest to an otherwise plain look. Marks & Spencer’s block heels are an excellent highstreet option (£29.50, marksandspencer.com).
