Little luxuries to enjoy every day
Your local supermarket has not, traditionally, been the obvious place to pick up good-quality homewares. But several of them have been upping their interiors game recently with, in some cases, a surprisingly trend-led offering. Sainsbury’s is one that has expanded its range, and added a collection called Everyday Luxury – like Taste the Difference, but for towels and cushions. Among the new products are 600thread-count cotton bedlinen, goosedown duvets, ribbed Egyptian-cotton towels, and the plates and bowls pictured: minimalist, white and stackable, with shallow, straight-edge sides (something of a current tableware trend). More everyday than luxury, perhaps, but the quality is higher than you would expect, while the prices are not: from £3 for a side plate. sainsburys.co.uk
