9am I tend to wake up on Saturdays with a headache. Friday nights are a chance to let rip; having not drunk any alcohol during the week, I’ll have had roast chicken and two glasses of wine in the kitchen. 10am I have an appointment at White Room, my local gym in Belgravia. My trainer is very good at making me exercise without realising it. I do running and weights. It’s taken me until my 50s to realise that exercise really does make me feel good. 11am On the way home I stop at Baker & Spice café for a coffee and a croissant. 2pm Not many of my kids [aged between 16 and 31] live at home – some are at boarding school, some at university – so there’s a Whatsapp about who’s around for lunch. We eat at Olivocarne, one of my favourite restaurants. I love places that are untrendy, I’d hate to go anywhere where I might see anyone I know. 3pm I go for a London ‘country walk’ for two hours: along the river, around graveyards or churches, or markets. I like pavements and coffee shops.

I get claustrophobic in the real countryside. 5pm My parents have just moved to London and often I pop in for a cup of tea. Sometimes my husband [James Seymour, financial director of her label] and I go to our local pub, The Nag’s Head, and have a Bloody Mary. 7pm In the evening we like to get home, light the fires and lock the doors. We often do what we call ‘breakfast for dinner’, where we all have a bowl of cereal and a piece of toast. Then we might watch different screens; my husband and the kids like anything sci-fi, and I watch

Succession. 8pm We have an amazing masseuse called Liz who comes to iron us out with shiatsu and deep-tissue massage. We each have our own music: I like beautiful choral; my husband listens to some horrible American country. 10pm I take a bath with magnesium salts. I often come up with lots of design ideas when my mind is relaxed. Then the real treat is to be in bed early – to be asleep by 11pm is heaven.
