My Saturday
The 62-year-old cosmetics-brand founder lives near New York and spends her weekends training on her Peloton bike, browsing in MOMA and lunching with her son
Make-up queen Bobbi Brown’s weekend of food, family and vodka on the rocks
6.15am My dog, Biggie, wakes me up. She’s a rescue dog and looks like a miniature golden retriever mixed with a little beagle. I let her out, then down two glasses of water. I have a double Nespresso with one capful of halfand-half [milk and cream] and get back into bed with my ipad and read the newspapers. Steven [Bobbi’s husband] will have already done 40 minutes of aerobic activity in our home gym. I check my Instagram and hop on the Peloton bike. I do some weights or at least some planks (for between 20 and 40 minutes). 8.30am I shower, and if I wash my hair I let it air-dry. I’m in love with Sam Mcknight’s Cool Girl mist. I’ll whizz up a smoothie, which I make using Evolution_18 chocolate protein powder, water, frozen banana, frozen spinach and chia. 11am We live in Montclair, New Jersey, 20 miles west of the city, and once Steven is ready, we head into Manhattan. We usually go to MOMA, where I’m always begging to go to the photography exhibit; he loves the paintings. 2pm We meet up with Dylan [Bobbi’s 29-year-old son] for lunch in Brooklyn, where he lives, or downtown. We go anywhere, from old standbys like Balthazar in Soho to Lilia in Brooklyn. 3pm We stick our heads into different shops.
We all like James Perse, or there’s a new store called Alex Mill that does really interesting clothes. 4pm We usually head back to New Jersey. There is an infrared sauna in our backyard, so I might go in there and watch a TV show – currently I’m watching The Marvelous Mrs Maisel. Then I’ll throw on a pair of pants, a different sweater and Ted Muehling’s modern pearl earrings – they always make me feel dressed up. 7pm We love going out to dinner with couples at the golf club, which is in the next town, West Orange. I try to just have a piece of protein and greens with my vodka on the rocks. 10.30pm At home, I’ll make a cup of Celestial Seasonings peppermint tea and we’ll go upstairs. I put coconut oil on my face, grab a washcloth and scrub everything off. We usually watch the 11 o’clock news or Saturday Night Live. I pass out in three minutes.
