Against the traditiona­l backdrop of colourful cottages, thatched B&Bs and quaint camping sites, Apple Camping has crashed brazenly on to the scene in rural Pembrokesh­ire. Poking through the trees like a Lord of the Flies film set, the grey fuselage of a 65ft-long Jetstar aeroplane is an eye-catching place to stay. Inside, the wingless, first-class aircraft still retains many of its Seventies fittings – the original bar is well stocked, there are comfortabl­e leather seats and ambient lighting to set the mood – while the cockpit is equipped with flight simulator and Xbox games, so you can play at being pilot.
