Mill Farm Glamping, Wiltshire

Last year they finished the UK’s first two-storey safari tent, this year the owners of Mill Farm in Wiltshire have constructed a brand new mega-treehouse, with beds for six people and five different rooms inside. It’s fair to say they like a little hard work – the glamping business is run alongside a working organic farm so the result is a hands-on holiday atmosphere, where rural activities range from touring the farm to horse riding. The treehouse living area features a country-style kitchen with a cosy stove and sofa space, while the three bedrooms and a bathroom are located in connecting towers (the latter with a large, whirlpool bathtub). Sandwiched between the Cotswolds and the North Wessex Downs, there are great walks nearby, while Bath and Longleat – home to the safari and adventure park – are both 45 minutes’ away. Treehouse from £350 for two-night midweek, £840 for a three-night weekend; Poulshot, Nr Devizes (01380 828351; millfarmglamping.co.uk)
