Gleneagles’ two-day Wild Wellness retreat is designed to restore and rejuvenate guests through outdoor pursuits, in the belief that exposure has significant physical and mental health benefits. With a guide, guests will practice pranayama yoga and primal breathing in various locations; they will head out on nature walks, taking in the incredible Perthshire landscape and local wildlife, with the option to bathe in a waterfall; reflect on their day with a stargazing session; hike Ben Vorlich; and retreat to the hotel’s magnificent spa. Fishing, foraging and boat rides on Loch Earn are also on the cards.

SEA & SIERRA AT MARBELLA CLUB AND EL LODGE SKI & SPA, SPAIN Both hotels have teamed up to offer Sea & Sierra, a package that traverses guests from the Sierra mountains to the Costa del Sol. Nature-based excursions at El Lodge include horse riding in Sierra Nevada National Park, hiking in Los Cahorros or skiing in the afternoons. Back at base, spa rituals involve breathing techniques, guided “visualisations” and après-activity treatments using basil, orange, lemon and anise. The journey continues south for another three nights at the Marbella Club, which remains open in winter, where more outdoor pursuits and holistic offerings await. The club’s sea-facing thalassotherapy spa and Vichy exfoliation treatment are the postactivity tonics to pick.
