Violence marks Burundi elections

Sporadic gunfire and grenade blasts have marred Burundi’s presidential election, in which President Pierre Nkurunziza is seeking a third term in office despite widespread protests in the East African country and the broad disapproval of the international community. Two police officers and an opposition official were killed.
