‘Unexploded bomb’ closes Victoria station

-

ONE of Britain’s busiest stations was evacuated after an unexploded Second World War bomb was discovered during building works.

Morning commuters faced chaos yesterday as Victoria Tube station was closed temporarily while police cordoned off the site.

Scotland Yard confirmed officers had discovered the device at Terminus Place, where works are being carried out by Transport for London to upgrade the station.

Images posted on social media showed a heavy police presence as commuters left the station.

A spokesman for the rail station said train services were unaffected. TfL confirmed Tube services had resumed as normal.
