Calls to release China booksellers

The European Parliament has called for the immediate release of five Hong Kong booksellers detained in China. Chinese police have confirmed that three of the five who went missing were being investigated for “illegal activities”.

The booksellers specialise in selling gossipy political books on China’s Communist Party leaders.
