A game of two halves

The complexities of the footballing mind. In the sports pages of another paper, I’ve just read the following story. “Daniel Sturridge,” it claimed, “is ready to quit Liverpool this summer over his fury at criticism questioning his desire to play for the club.”

Right. I think I’ve got that. If this story is true, Daniel Sturridge is so sick of people saying he doesn’t want to play for his club that he doesn’t want to play for his club. And so, to prove his critics wrong, he’s going to prove them right.

Yes, that should shut them up.
