Earrings were a gift to mark Charlotte’s birth, says jeweller

-

A PAIR of tourmaline, amethyst and diamond earrings worn by the Duchess of Cambridge on her royal tour were a gift to mark the birth of Princess Charlotte, their designer has revealed.

The £3,500 green drop earrings were created for her by the London jeweller Kiki McDonough.

The brand did not reveal who the earrings were from.

The Duke of Cambridge was reported to have bought his wife jewellery to mark the arrival of Prince George in 2013, so may have done so for the birth of his second child, or they could have been a present from the Middleton family.

The Duchess paired the earrings with a £750 jade Alice Temperley dress, left. A spokesman for Kiki McDonough said: “They’re a one-off but can be commissioned.”
