Lenny Henry to be honoured by Bafta
Sir Lenny Henry is to receive a Bafta special award in recognition of his contribution to television. The Dudley-born stand-up comedian, actor and writer is best known for his work on Comic Relief and as a presenter of The Magicians, The Lenny Henry Show and Three of a Kind.
Sir Lenny, who will be presented with the award in honour of director and producer Alan Clarke at the Bafta TV Awards on May 8, said: “I am truly humbled and truly hopeful that this award is a pan-industry acknowledgement that diversity must be at the heart of our industry if we are to reflect British society.”
