Sex attacker targeted women walking home

A prolific serial sex attacker targeted young women walking home alone after dark, carrying out four assaults in just one night, a court heard.

Algerian national Mehdi Midani, 28, had only been in Britain for a few months when he began to attack women in Clapham and Brixton in south London. He attacked eight young women in 10 days last October.

He has been found guilty at Inner London Crown Court of six sexual assaults. He had already admitted a seventh count. He was also found guilty of one count of common assault.

He was remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced next month.
