Diesel compensation

-

SIR – Diesel owners affected by the emissions scandal do deserve compensation (Letters, April 26).

I am the owner of one such vehicle, which I would have exchanged for a new one last year. Because of its emissions problem, I was unable to do so. Because the car has still not been fixed by Volkswagen, it remains virtually worthless.

By the time the problem is eradicated, my car will be about a year older, with a higher mileage, and will therefore be worth less in part-exchange. John Landau Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
