Wear­ing a low-cut dress in a job ap­pli­ca­tion pho­to­graph boosts a woman’s chances of be­ing invited for an in­ter­view, re­search sug­gests.

A study con­ducted in Paris showed fe­male ap­pli­cants were 19 times more suc­cess­ful in be­ing sum­moned when pic­tured in re­veal­ing cloth­ing rather than more con­ser­va­tive at­tire.

The Sor­bonne Uni­ver­sity sur­vey reached its con­clu­sion af­ter two women were put up for each of a num­ber of job ad­ver­tise­ments over a pe­riod of three years.
