Smiling Sir Cliff takes his place on Centre Court

Sir Cliff Richard returned to the stands of Wimbledon’s Centre Court yesterday. Last year, when he was facing allegations of historical sex abuse, he missed the tournament for the first time in 20 years. But two weeks after prosecutors said he would not be charged, the 75-year-old singer appeared relaxed as he chatted to friends and followed Novak Djokovic’s match against Britain’s James Ward. The No 1 seed successfully defended his title, winning 6-0, 7-6 , 6-4.
