Israel and Turkey end six-year rift over flotilla
Israel and Turkey have finalised a deal to end a six-year diplomatic rift that began when Israeli commandos killed nine Turkish activists aboard a flotilla bound for Gaza in 2010.
The agreement, encouraged by the United States, restores full diplomatic ties between the two countries and opens the path for a significant natural gas deal.
Israel agreed to pay $20 million (£14.8 million) in compensation to the families of the dead and wounded activists, who will drop future claims.
