Spike Lee’s garish remake of the Korean classic fails to capture any of the original’s brilliance. It’s not a total disaster: Sean Bobbitt’s bravura camerawork keeps the first part hot with flashy potential, and Josh Brolin starts out fine, as a brutish, divorced ad exec, but Sharlto Copley’s stereotypically camp British villain sends the final act tumbling downhill.
