An adaptation of Robert Schenkkan’s Broadway hit, which sees Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston reprise his role as US President Lyndon B Johnson. The drama focuses on Johnson’s first year in office and, in particular, on his efforts to pass key civil rights measures fought for by Martin Luther King (Anthony Mackie) through a Congress that was packed with unsympathetic Southerners. Ironically, these were the political figures who had ensured Johnson’s rise to power.
