Night Manager star is Rear of the Year
ACTOR Tom Hiddleston has been crowned male “Rear of the Year” after he revealed his posterior to viewers of the popular BBC spy drama The Night Manager in a racy sex scene.
At the time the sight of his bare buttocks in a tryst between his character Jonathan Pine and Jed Marshall, played by Elizabeth Debicki, prompted a storm on social media.
Some fans claimed to have lost track of the complex plot so distracted were they by his naked body.
Hiddleston, 35, beat off competition from the likes of Luther star Idris Elba, tennis ace Andy Murray and Fifty Shades of Grey actor Jamie Dornan.
In fifth place was The Chase presenter and former Coronation Street star Bradley Walsh, who at 56 is 21 years older than Hiddleston.
Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe was named winner of the female title.
The winners were chosen from more than 10,000 votes cast by members of the public using the contest’s official website between July 2015 and June 2016. Hiddleston, tipped by some to be the next James Bond, has made headlines in recent weeks for his relationship with American pop star Taylor Swift.
He has been nominated for an Emmy for his role in the BBC adaptation of the John le Carré novel, in which he starred alongside Hugh Laurie as a former soldier turned hotel night manager.
