Nine die in raid on Dhaka militants

Nine men were killed as police raided suspected Islamist militants in Dhaka, Bangladesh yesterday, seizing explosives, revolvers and black flags.

Officials said they were from banned local group Jumatul Mujahedeen Bangladesh, blamed for a July 1 attack on a restaurant in the capital’s diplomatic zone when 20 people including foreigners were killed by gunmen.
