The South Bank Show Originals
SKY ARTS, 10.00PM This run of classic South
Bank Show episodes opens with a double bill. It begins with a 1988 edition in which painter David Hockney takes Melvyn Bragg around his retrospective exhibition at London’s Tate Gallery (now known as Tate Britain). This is followed by Bragg’s 2001 encounter with sculptor Rachel Whiteread, who explains how her imagination is fired up “among the streets and scrapyards of London”.
