Nigeria loses top spot in GDP ranks

South Africa has overtaken Nigeria to regain its position as Africa’s largest economy, two years after being knocked off the top spot.

The rise in South Africa’s rand combined with a fall in Nigeria’s naira drove the changes in GDP.
