Teacher ‘was caught in bed with pupil’

A TEACHER who was found in a hotel room with a 17year-old student after a prom was only caught after another pupil walked in on them and posted a photo to social media, a tribunal has heard.

Isabelle Graham is accused of “repeatedly engaging in sexual activity” with her pupil in an Edinburgh Travelodge.

The General Teaching Council for Scotland panel heard that an investigation began after senior teaching staff were made aware that a photograph had been uploaded on social media. A hearing in Edinburgh was shown the picture, which appeared to show Mrs Graham in bed and the pupil near the door.

The photo was reportedly taken by a pupil who was meant to be sharing a room with his fellow student but returned numerous times to find the teacher in bed.

Mrs Graham, a former French teacher at Whitburn Academy in West Lothian, who was not present or represented at the hearing, denies the charges and claims to have no recollection of events after 10.30pm, having drunk four glasses of wine.
