China’s Jack the Ripper admits killing 11 women

-

A man known as China’s “Jack the Ripper” for the way he mutilated the bodies of some of the 11 women he killed has reportedly been captured by police almost 30 years after the terrifying murders began.

Gao Chengyong, 52, was detained in a grocery store he ran with his wife in Baiyin, a city in China’s north-west Gansu province where nine of the killings occurred, the China Daily reported yesterday.

He confessed to 11 murders in Gansu and Inner Mongolia between 1988 and 2002. An eight-year-old girl was reported to have been among the dead.
