Princess told guard to kill me, decorator claims

- By Henry Samuel in Paris

A SAUDI Arabian princess allegedly forced a decorator who took a photo of her flat in Paris to “kiss her feet” and told a bodyguard to “kill” him.

The decorator claims the terrifying four-hour ordeal took place at the chic apartment block on Avenue Foch in the affluent 16th arrondissement.

The princess, a daughter of the late king, allegedly thought he had taken the photo to sell to the press and told her bodyguard: “You must kill him, this dog. He doesn’t deserve to live.”

Guards of Saudi royals are allowed by the French interior ministry to bear arms unlike those of French nationality, bar rare exceptions.

The decorator said he tried to explain he always took photos to ensure objects and furniture were returned to the same place afterwards. But the princess allegedly remained unconvinced and the guard punched the decorator in the head before binding his hands together.

The guard then ordered him to “kiss the feet” of the princess, Le Point reported. The decorator said when he refused, the guard pointed a gun at him.

Another royal employee photocopied his identity card and finally untied the decorator, telling him “never to return to the 16th arrondissement”.

The decorator has filed a legal complaint and police said the bruise marks were still visible when he testified.

The decorator reportedly still tried to charge the Saudis €20,000 (£23,100) for the job but said he was never paid and his tools were never returned.
