Leicester’s bright start to life after Ranieri

Leicester City made a mockery of the relegation form that led to Claudio Ranieri’s sacking with a 3-1 defeat of Liverpool. The Premier League champions began life without their title-winning manager with the type of performance that led to their unlikely triumph last year. Jamie Vardy – top scorer last season but with only five goals to his name in 2016-17 – scored twice to lift his side out the relegation zone.
