Rings of fire

A series of photographs of Sunday’s annular or “ring of fire” solar eclipse taken near Sarmiento in Chubut province, southern Argentina. The maximum duration of the eclipse was 44 seconds and the full effect was seen in a band just 19 miles wide from southern South America to south-west Africa.
