-

SIR – As the luvvies have contrived to render their most important awards ceremony a farce by announcing the wrong winner, perhaps we might in future be spared their comments on political matters, about which they know even less. Colin Bullen Tonbridge, Kent

SIR – It is ironic that the actors and artists who used the Oscars ceremony to condemn a democratically elected president managed to present the top award to the film that came second. Richard Jones Chedburgh, Suffolk

SIR – Can I suggest that, next year, they simply pin a list of the winners on the notice board in the foyer? Steve Cattell Grantham, Lincolnshire

SIR – Am I paranoid in thinking that the Russians are now trying to hack envelopes? Steve Baldock Handcross, West Sussex
