Parkinson’s Gut may be key

Parkinson’s may start in the gut when the balance of healthy bacteria is altered, scientists have found. A study in Neurology found that patients who had the vagus nerve, which is connected to the abdomen, severed – a treatment for ulcers – they were 40 per cent less likely to develop the disease.
