Fakebook Site admits it was abused by foreign powers

Facebook has admitted for the first time that foreign powers have used it to manipulate election results with fake news. It said its technology had been used to spread false information in order to sway voters before they head to the polls. Facebook outlined how it was used to influence the US presidential election last year. It told how “malicious actors” posted false news from external websites on to Facebook and then boosted them using fake accounts. The company supported US conclusions that Russia was most likely responsible.
