BUCKINGHAM PALACE May 16th Ms Cressida Dick was received by The Queen today upon her appointmen­t as Commission­er of the Police of the Metropolis.

The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointmen­t as Her Majesty’s Ambassador­s: Mrs Sharon Campbell (nonresiden­t Ambassador to the Republic of Haiti) and Mr Christophe­r Campbell (Dominican Republic), Mr Iain Lindsay (Republic of Hungary) and Mr James Thornton (Plurinatio­nal State of Bolivia).

Mrs Lindsay and Mrs Thornton were also received by Her Majesty.

Ms Joanne Lomas was received in audience by The Queen upon her appointmen­t as British High Commission­er to the Republic of Namibia.

Mr Christophe­r Finucane was also received by Her Majesty.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave an Afternoon Party in the garden of Buckingham Palace.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, The Earl of Wessex, The Princess Royal, Princess Beatrice of York, The Duke of Kent and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent were present.

Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemena­tArms and The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard were on duty.

The Bands of the Welsh Guards and the Royal Armoured Corps played selections of music during the afternoon.

CLARENCE HOUSE May 16th

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall today visited Oxford and were received by Mr John Harwood (Vice LordLieute­nant of Oxfordshir­e).

Their Royal Highnesses this morning visited the Covered Market, Market Street.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, this afternoon opened the new building at the Oxford Centre of Islamic Studies, Marston Road.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited Kellogg College, Banbury Road.

The Prince of Wales later received The Crown Prince of Bahrain at Clarence House.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, this afternoon visited Helen and Douglas House, Magdalen Road, and was received by Mrs Ann Campbell (Deputy Lieutenant of Oxfordshir­e).

Her Royal Highness, President, Maggie Keswick Jencks Cancer Caring Centres Trust, afterwards visited Maggie’s, Old Road.

The Duchess of Cornwall later visited the Clockhouse Project, Long Ground.

KENSINGTON PALACE May 16th

The Duke of Cambridge, President, the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, this morning visited the Royal Marsden Hospital, Downs Road, Sutton, and was received by Major Christophe­r Goodwin (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Duke of York this afternoon departed from Heathrow Airport, London, for China.

Mrs Amanda Thirsk, Miss Letitia Debenham and Mr David Pogson are in attendance.

The Countess of Wessex, Chairman, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Women’s Network Forum, this afternoon held Meetings.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, St John and Red Cross Defence Medical Welfare Service, this evening attended a Reception at the House of Lords, London SW1.

The Countess of Wessex, Chairman, Women in Business (promoting The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award), later attended a Dinner at the Ivy Club, 9 West Street, London WC2.

The Princess Royal this morning opened the GS1 General Assembly Conference at the London Hilton on Park Lane, 22 Park Lane, London W1, and was received by Dr Paul Knapman (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Livability, this evening held a Dinner at St James’s Palace.

ST JAMES’S PALACE May 16th

The Duke of Kent, Grand Master, United Grand Lodge of England, this morning received Mr Peter Lowndes (Pro Grand Master). The Duke of York has been pleased to appoint Miss Letitia Debenham as an Assistant Private Secretary to His Royal Highness.
