Pilot swerves from drone at 4,000ft

An airline pilot was forced to take evasive action after a near-miss with a drone which came within 22 yards of his plane at about 4,000ft as he prepared to land. The Loganair flight landed safely in Edinburgh but there could have been “far more serious consequences” had there been a collision, Police Scotland warned.
