Thoughts and prayers

A celebration for the 100th anniversary of the Order of the British Empire, led by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, was muted as thoughts of those at St Paul’s Cathedral turned to victims of Monday’s bomb attack. On a hot spring day the Queen chose not to wear her heavy ceremonial robes, unlike the Duke, who was turned out in full regalia.
