Man shot dead in supermarket car park
A murder investigation has been launched after a man died in a shooting in the car park of a busy supermarket.
The 55-year-old was hit several times in the gun attack outside a Sainsbury’s in Bangor, Co Down.
Police believe there may have been at least 100 witnesses, and appealed for anyone with information to make contact.
There were reports of a confrontation before four to six bullets were fired. A witness said paramedics worked on the victim for 45 minutes before he was put in an ambulance.
Alan Chambers, an Ulster Unionist MLA, said: “It was clear to me that we could easily have been dealing with a lot more casualties.”
