Banks block travellers from drawing cash
Bank card companies often prevent holidaymakers from accessing their money abroad, a survey has found.
Some 26 per cent of people who had used their card while travelling had experienced it being blocked by their provider, despite nearly 61 per cent of them saying they had notified their bank that they were going on holiday.
The survey of around 1,000 UK respondents was carried out by uswitch.com, which called for banks to automatically refund the costs of reactivating credit or debit cards if the bank had been informed about the overseas trip.
