Moldova rattles Russia as it expels five envoys
Russia has threatened to retaliate after Moldova expelled five Russian diplomats from the embassy in Chisinau, the republic’s capital.
Pavel Filin, the Moldovan prime minister, said that the expulsions were based on “information received from the security services”.
The Moldovan government tends towards a pro-europe stance but Igor Dodon, the Moscow-leaning president, criticised the move and said he hoped to discuss the expulsions with Vladimir Putin this week.
