SIR – The EU is using crime and terror intelligence exchange as a bargaining chip in Brexit. There may be no cooperation unless Britain subjects itself to European courts.

What on earth has one to do with the other? Crime and terrorism are international and the exchange of intelligence is beneficial to all.

GCHQ, Interpol and the CIA cooperate on a regular basis, and as far as I know the CIA is not subject to any courts outside its national boundaries. Roger West
