Telegraph experts weigh up the big fish and the minnows
Juliet Samuel
Uh oh. Jeremy Corbyn must have had too many Weetabix. He didn’t have to join last night’s debate at all, but half way into it he was down with the other children slinging mud. Appearing alongside the leaders of the minnow parties was meant to underline Theresa May’s absence. Instead, he looked like he belonged there and he became part of a chorus of virtue-signalling do-gooders. He seemed to enjoy himself at first then began to get angry and shout. And he was outflanked on the Left as the Scots and Welsh nationalists skewered him on Labour’s positions on tuition fees and zero-hours contracts.
