My dad dancing? It’s not too bad, says Prince

- By Hannah Furness

ON LETTING his hair down, and photographs showing him dancing in Verbier with friends earlier this year, the Duke conceded camera phones and Twitter had left him without much privacy.

Defending his so-called “dad dancing” as “not too bad” in the scheme of things, he argued the public would be more understanding about the episode than his critics.

“I think the public are much more nuanced,” he said. “I have my air ambulance job, I carry out the duties the Queen asked me to, I have my charities and causes and I am raising a young family, so I can’t let that criticism get to me.”

When asked whether he would have liked to run the London Marathon himself, in a year when Heads Together was its flagship charity, he admitted he would have “loved to” but faced security concerns.

The Duke dismissed Campbell’s suggestion he run on a treadmill, as “so boring”, joking he would “have mental health issues if I was just staring at that wall”.
