Lego gender bias ‘is worse than it was during the Seventies’
LEGO has gone backwards when it comes to gender equality and is worse than it was in the Seventies, one of Britain’s leading physicists has said.
Athene Donald, a professor of experimental physics and master of Churchill College, Cambridge, criticised toy manufacturers – and Lego in particular – for their role in enforcing gender bias.
She said toy promotions encouraged boys to think “battle and power are the way to get on in the world”, while girls were told “love and magic” are.
