Teachers fall victim to pupils’ online scams

Increasing numbers of teachers are being set up by pupils in online scams, including fake dates and having their embarrassing Facebook images distributed.

A National Association of Schoolmasters/union of Women Teachers poll of more than 1,500 members found nearly a third of teachers had suffered online harassment and victimisation in the past year.

In one case, a pupil set a teacher up on a fake date after tricking her online then took a photo of the incident which was sent around her school.
