‘Effectively topless’: Ofcom receives 216 complaints about BGT judge’s dress

-

A revealing dress worn by Amanda Holden on ITV’S Britain’s Got Talent has sparked 216 complaints to Ofcom. On Thursday night, the judge, 46, wore a gown which was slashed to the navel and had a cut-out panel that reached to the small of her back. A spokesman for Ofcom said it would assess the complaints before deciding if there should be an investigation.

One viewer tweeted: “So Amanda is effectively topless on Britain’s Got Talent.” Another said it was “totally not suitable”, while others said children might be watching. But one wrote: “It’s a bit of cleavage, grow up. Is her body. Not yours.”

Last year, Ofcom decided not to investigate after complaints about Holden and fellow judge Alesha Dixon’s outfits. In an interview recently, Holden said she “can’t wait” to wear the dresses, adding she hoped people would complain to Ofcom because she hadn’t “done my job” if they didn’t.
