Defiant police officer Rookie fought with baton
♦a British Transport Police officer was stabbed after he confronted the terrorists armed with his baton.
The rookie, who has been with the force for less than two years, was one of the first on the scene and is recovering in hospital. Paul Crowther, the BTP chief constable, who visited him, said he demonstrated “enormous courage in the face of danger”.
He said: “Although he is seriously unwell, he was able to recount how he faced the attackers. The bravery he showed was outstanding.”
