Theresa May

Only the Conservatives can deliver the Brexit deal and the economic growth that our country deserves

- Theresa may

Over the past six weeks I have travelled to all four corners of Britain to take my message to the British people. Today it is over to you. As you go into the privacy of the polling booth, remember that the fundamentals have not changed since the day the campaign began. I need your support to strengthen my hand as I negotiate for Britain in Europe. That’s how we will get the best deal for Britain and fulfil the promise of Brexit together.

If you strengthen my hand, I can get a Brexit deal that delivers for Britain.

Taking back control of our money so that we spend it on our priorities, our borders so that we control immigration and ensure the system serves our national interest, and our laws so that we bring the jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice in Britain to an end. Building a new deep and special partnership with the EU based on security and economic cooperation too.

With your support, we can build a truly global Britain.

Forging new relationships with old friends and new allies across the globe, and acting as the strongest advocate of free trade as we do. Doing new deals for our goods and services around the world, and championing the British values of freedom, democracy, tolerance and the rule of law wherever we go.

If you back me, we can build a more secure Britain.

Continuing to invest in the finest intelligence services and hugely respected armed forces that do so much to keep us safe. Tackling the threat from Islamist extremism by denying the ideology the safe spaces it needs to breed, bringing in longer prison sentences for people convicted of terrorist offences, deporting foreign terror suspects to their own countries, and doing more to restrict the freedoms of terror suspects when we have enough evidence to know they present a threat. If that means changing human rights laws to do it, that’s what we will do.

And with your backing, we can build a stronger Britain by driving economic growth across the country.

Encouraging businesses to set up and grow by cutting corporation tax to the lowest rate in any developed economy. Establishing a new National Productivity Investment Fund to put at least £23 billion into housing, research and development, infrastructure and skills by 2022 to spread prosperity and opportunity across the United Kingdom. And keeping taxes low so that people keep more of the money they earn.

That’s the difference a Conservative government can make to Britain. But it takes strong leadership to do it. The willingness to say the courageous thing and do the difficult thing. The ability to knuckle down and get the job done.

Only one of two people will be prime minister tomorrow: me or Jeremy Corbyn. Rarely can a candidate for high office have been so singularly illequipped for the task as the leader of the Labour Party is today. A man who can’t command the support of his own party could never face up to the challenges ahead, stand up for Britain when the going gets tough, or fulfil the promise of Brexit – the promise that says, whoever you are and wherever you are from, you should be able to share in the opportunity and prosperity of post-brexit Britain.

Yet if I lose just six seats in this election, the Government will lose its majority and Jeremy Corbyn will be sitting down with the prime ministers, presidents and chancellors of Europe in just a few days’ time. For anyone who believes in Britain, who wants to keep our country safe, who wants us to make a success of Brexit, the prospect of the weak and hapless Labour leader sneaking into No 10 via a backdoor coalition with the Liberal Democrats and the SNP should be unthinkable.

That’s why your country needs you to go out and vote Conservative – not just to stop the coalition of chaos, but to back my plans for Brexit and for a stronger, more prosperous Britain too.

The choice is clear. It’s between the chaos of a prime minister who can’t lead or keep our country secure, or me and my team with a plan to get the best Brexit deal and to build a more secure and prosperous Britain.

So however you have voted in the past, if you believe in Britain and that our best days lie ahead, give me your backing to lead Britain. Give me your backing to speak for Britain. Give me your backing to fight for Britain. Give me your backing to deliver for Britain.

Vote Conservative today and let’s go forward together.
